The benefits and disadvantages for organizations

There are many advantages and disadvantages for using blog as a business tool in organizations. At first, a blog is often easy and quick to setup. It normally does not require advance programming knowledge to use it. Users can simply use few buttons to post their messages and upload their pictures. Secondly, creating blogs are usually inexpensive and many websites are offering them for free. Companies can therefore enhance their advertisements with lower cost. Also, it is accessible to all visitors who can access to the internet and they are freely to post comments and to retrieve firm’s most updated information. In fact, it can establish relationships with customers so that companies can better understand their customers. Another benefit for organizations for the use of blogs is that it can reduce the amount of emails and calls from customers. In many organizations, it can receive over three hundred emails and hundred calls per day. To reduce the amount of emails and callings from customers, companies can urge customers to leave comments and messages in its blogs.

Although it seems that blogging can be beneficial for companies, it can create disadvantages in many situations. For example, people might not have the ability to clearly express their opinions due to language barrier. Hence, the use of blogs might not enhance the interaction and communication between companies and customers. Also, most comments are not directly reflected the thought of all customers. So companies should carefully select and read which comments are relevant for their decision-making. As mentioned earlier, companies should constantly update their blogs so that customers can obtain newest information. If they failed to do so, it might lose their potential customers in a short term. Since owning blogs are public, it is important to not leave internal information in the website. On the other hand, some companies might require its employees to use blogs as a communication tools. They might post important messages such as schedule changes. However, it might be difficult since not all everyone is able to access to the internet. Therefore, all these disadvantages might be inconvenient for organizations to use blogs as business tool. More information will be provided at the following website:
